Tour Plan

You leave Kathmandu and travel west to Pokhara on a scenic highway route. The drive follows river valleys and rolling hills, passing small towns, terraced farmland, and roadside viewpoints that give a first taste of Nepal’s countryside.

You arrive in Pokhara by late afternoon, check into the hotel, and rest. The evening is ideal for a relaxed walk around the lakeside area. You stay overnight in Pokhara.

Trek duration: Approx. 6 to 7 hours (drive)

Accommodation: Hotel in Pokhara

Meals: Breakfast

Note: A short flight option is also possible if preferred.

You leave Pokhara early and drive to Samrung, passing rural settlements, terraced hills, and river valleys as the road heads toward the Annapurna foothills. The drive is adventurous on bumpy sections, but it shortens the trekking time by starting closer to the sanctuary route.

From Samrung, the trail begins with a steady climb through forest and village paths toward Chhomrong, one of the key villages on the ABC route. After crossing the river valley below Chhomrong, the trail climbs again through shaded bamboo and rhododendron sections to reach Upper Sinuwa for the night.

  • Trek duration: 4 to 5 hours drive + 5 to 6 hours trek
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Upper Sinuwa
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
  • Note: It is a long day with repeated uphills.

You leave Upper Sinuwa and trek deeper into the valley as the air turns cooler and the forest becomes denser. The trail follows a mix of stone steps and shaded woodland paths, passing through Bamboo and Dovan along the Modi Khola corridor.

As altitude increases, the landscape grows more rugged and alpine, with fewer trees and steeper terrain. You pass Himalaya before climbing higher toward Deurali, where the valley opens up, and the mountains feel closer. You take a rest and stay overnight in Deurali.

Trek duration: 7 to 8 hours

Accommodation: Teahouse in Deurali

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Note: Trail sections can be damp and slippery, so keep a steady footing.

The trail climbs steadily above Deurali, leaving the narrow gorge behind as the route opens into the wide, dramatic Annapurna Sanctuary. With fewer trees and more open terrain, the views grow bigger, and the mountains feel closer as altitude increases. You pass Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) and continue across Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)  and witness the peaks surrounding the base camp.

  • Trek duration: 5 to 6 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Annapurna Base Camp
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
  • Note: It gets cold quickly at ABC, so keep warm layers accessible.

An early start gives clear morning views before descending from Annapurna Base Camp through the sanctuary. The trail drops past Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Deurali, with the scenery shifting from open alpine terrain back into the sheltered Modi Khola valley. You again pass through Dovan and continue trekking until you reach Bamboo for the night.

Trek duration: 7 to 8 hours

Accommodation: Teahouse in Deurali

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Note: Trail sections can be damp and slippery, so keep a steady footing.

You leave Bamboo and follow the trail down through forested paths and village sections as the valley becomes greener and warmer. The route continues toward Chhomrong Khola, with a mix of descents and a few short climbs.

You reach Samrung, where the trek ends, and the drive back to Pokhara begins. The road winds through rural hills and river valleys, bringing you back to the lakeside city by late afternoon. The evening is free to rest, enjoy a hot shower, and relax by Phewa Lake.

  • Trek duration: 5 to 6 hours trek + 4 to 5 hours drive
  • Accommodation: Hotel in Pokhara
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
  • Note: Keep essentials accessible during the drive, as some sections can be bumpy.

You leave Pokhara and drive back to Kathmandu, following the main highway through river valleys, terraced hills, and lively roadside towns. The journey is scenic and relaxed, with a few stops along the way for tea, snacks, and short breaks.

You arrive in Kathmandu by late afternoon, check into the hotel, and enjoy a free evening to rest or explore nearby areas like Thamel for dinner and souvenir shopping. Your short Annapurna Base Camp journey ends here.
