Tour Plan

The trek begins with a scenic mountain flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After landing, you start an easy first walk along the river valley. The trail passes small Sherpa settlements, mani stones, prayer flags, and the first suspension bridges of the journey before reaching Phakding for a comfortable teahouse night.

Trek duration: Approx. 3 hours

Accommodation: Teahouse in Phakding

Meals: As per package

Note: In peak time (Mar–May, Sep–Nov), the flight often operates to Manthali/Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu.

The trail follows the Dudh Koshi Valley, passing villages and crossing several suspension bridges as the route climbs steadily. You reach the Sagarmatha National Park entry checkpoint near Monjo for permit checks, then continue on the main ascent to Namche Bazaar. By afternoon, you arrive in the Sherpa hub of Khumbu and have time to rest and explore.

  • Trek duration: Approx. 6 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Namche Bazaar
  • Meals: As per package

Day 3 is planned for acclimatization in Namche before trekking higher. You stay active with an easy hike to nearby viewpoints or villages, then return to Namche to rest and recover. The afternoon is relaxed. You have time for a warm meal, short town walks, and final preparation for the higher trail days ahead.

Accommodation: Teahouse in Namche Bazaar

Meals: As per package

You leave Namche and follow the Bhote Koshi through pine and rhododendron forests. The trail passes the mud-plastered stupa at Phurte, continues via Thamo and Thamo Gompa, then drops toward the Khumbu Hydroelectric Plant before reaching Thame at the end of the Khumbu Valley, a quiet Sherpa village with strong mountaineering heritage.

  • Trek duration: Approx. 6 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Thame
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

You trek deeper into the quiet upper valley, walking past small villages, yak pastures, and wide mountain scenery. The trail passes the last settlement in the valley, Taranga, then continues through Marulung (4,200m) before reaching Lungden (4,500m) by late afternoon. If time allows, a short side walk toward Nakpa Valley offers a glimpse of the old trade route toward Tibet.

Trek duration: Approx. 6 hours

Accommodation: Lodge/teahouse in Lungden

Meals: As per package

You trek from Lungden toward the first high pass, climbing steadily to Renjo La (5,446m). From the top, wide views open to Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu, then the trail descends carefully into the Gokyo Valley. By late afternoon, you reach Gokyo near the lakes and settle into a teahouse for the night.

  • Trek duration: Approx. 8 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Gokyo
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7 is planned for acclimatization in Gokyo. You take an early hike up Gokyo Ri (5,400m)  for panoramic views over the Gokyo Lakes and surrounding Himalayan peaks. After enjoying the viewpoint, you descend back to Gokyo and keep the rest of the day relaxed. You can take a rest, or explore the lakeside area, and prepare for the next pass crossing.

Hike duration: Approx. 1–1.5 hours to the top

Accommodation: Teahouse in Gokyo

Meals: As per package

You leave Gokyo and trek toward Thangnak on a rocky trail with gentle ups and downs. The route follows the eastern moraine beside the Ngozumpa Glacier, with stark high-altitude scenery and glacier views throughout the walk. By afternoon, you reach the small lodge settlement of Thangnak (4,700m), ideally positioned for the next day’s Cho La Pass crossing.

  • Trek duration: Approx. 5 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Thangnak
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

From Thangnak, you climb steadily on rocky trails and glacial moraines to Cho La Pass (5,420m). The crossing is demanding and often windy, but the views are spectacular on clear days. After the pass, you descend carefully into the Dzongla valley and reach Dzongla (4,855m) for overnight rest. The Cho La pass links the Gokyo side with the Everest Base Camp route.

Trek duration: 6–7 hours

Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Dzongla

Meals: As per package

You continue from Dzongla on a gradual trail with open mountain scenery, then join the main Everest trail near Lobuche. The route stays relatively shorter today, giving time to recover after the Cho La crossing while still gaining a little altitude. By afternoon, you reach Lobuche (4,910m), settle into a teahouse, and rest for the Everest base camp trek tomorrow.

  • Trek duration: Approx. 4 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Lobuche
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

You trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep across rocky glacial terrain, then continue to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) along the Khumbu Glacier moraine. After time at Base Camp for photos and views, you return the same way to Gorak Shep (5,185m) for the night. This is one of the longest days, so pacing stays slow and steady, with dramatic peaks and ice formations surrounding the trail.

Trek duration: 6–8 hours

Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Gorak Shep

Meals: As per package

You start early for the hike to Kala Patthar (5,555m), the best viewpoint for Everest and the surrounding peaks at sunrise. After spending time at the top, you descend to Gorak Shep and continue trekking back down the trail to Lobuche (4,910m). With the altitude decreasing, the walk feels easier, and the afternoon stays relaxed for rest after two demanding days.

  • Trek duration: Approx. 3 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Lobuche
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Today is one of the toughest days as you cross Kongma La Pass (5,535m). The route climbs steadily over rocky terrain and moraine, reaching a high, windswept pass with wide Himalayan views. After the crossing, you descend carefully into the Chhukung Valley, where the trail becomes easier. By late afternoon, you reach Chhukung (4,730m) and rest in a teahouse.

Trek duration: 7–8 hours

Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Chhukung

Meals: As per package

You descend from Chhukung through the Imja Valley toward the main Everest trail, with big mountain scenery along the way. The route passes through key villages in the lower valley and continues down into warmer air as the landscape shifts from high alpine terrain to forested sections. By afternoon, you reach Tengboche (3,855m), with time to relax and visit the famous monastery if conditions allow.

  • Trek duration: Approx. 5 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Tengboche
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

You leave Tengboche and descend through forest trails, then follow the valley route back toward Namche Bazaar. The day includes a mix of downhill and short uphill sections, with familiar views and villages returning as you rejoin the busier Everest trail. By afternoon, you reach Namche, settle into a teahouse, and enjoy a comfortable evening in the main Sherpa town.

Trek duration: Approx. 5 hours

Accommodation: Teahouse in Namche Bazaar

Meals: As per package

You continue the return trek down the Khumbu valley, crossing the main suspension bridges and passing familiar settlements along the route. The trail drops steadily, then includes a final gradual climb into Lukla (2,850m). By late afternoon, you reach Lukla, check into a teahouse, and enjoy a relaxed final evening in the mountains before the flight back to Kathmandu.

  • Trek duration: 6–7 hours
  • Accommodation: Teahouse/guesthouse in Lukla
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

You take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. After landing, we take you to your hotel, and the rest of the day stays relaxed. You take a hot shower, have a good meal, and have time to enjoy the city after completing the Three Passes circuit.

Flight time: ~35 minutes

Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu (as per package)

Meals: As per package

Note: In peak time (Mar–May, Sep–Nov), the flight often operates to Manthali/Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu.
